Upon accepting employment with B.A.E.S.S., an employee assumes the responsibility of being on duty at the proper time every day he/she is scheduled at work. All employees are expected to strive for perfect attendance. An employee’s attendance is part of an employee’s performance review.
Purpose
- To provide our clients with the best service.
- To be fair to employees who are regularly on time and at work.
Employee Responsibilities
- Employees are responsible for knowing what their attendance requirements are and managing their attendance responsibly.

It is important to speak directly with your immediate supervisor and to indicate when you plan to return. A call from a family member or friend is only appropriate in the case of an emergency.
- Employees are required to request prior approval from their managers for scheduled time off.
- Employees must provide a medical slip signed by their health care provider for absences of three (3) days or more, and may be asked to provide a medical slip in other situations.
Manager Responsibilities
- Inform employees of attendance and punctuality requirements.
- Instruct employees on the proper procedure for reporting unscheduled absences.
- Managers are responsible for addressing attendance and punctuality issues as they occur, and keeping accurate and complete records.
- Review and approve or disapprove all requests for time off and complete the appropriate forms for payroll.
- Monitor attendance and punctuality and implement corrective action if necessary.
Executive Responsibilities
- Work with managers to determine when corrective action, up to and including termination, is appropriate.
