Internet Use

B.A.E.S.S. makes internet access available to employees.  Internet access is expected to be used in a responsible manner.  B.A.E.S.S. reserves the right to monitor all internet access.  Employees who violate this policy are subject to corrective action up to and including termination.

Purpose

  • To allow for effective, confidential and accurate communication with inside and outside business partners.
  • To allow employees to acquire information from the internet which would help with their assigned duties.
  • To help foster an environment free from harassment.

Employee Responsibilities

  • Be mindful of copyright laws and never disseminate or print copyrighted materials.
  • Protect B.A.E.S.S. confidentiality by not sending, receiving, printing or otherwise disseminating proprietary data, trade secrets or other confidential information.
  • Never send or solicit sexually oriented messages or any material that may be offensive to others.
  • Do not engage in any activity in violation of local, state or federal law.
  • Don’t introduce worms, viruses, trojans or any other software that maliciously interferes with computing operations.
  • Only gain access when and as authorized to do so.
  • Internet access should not be used for personal gain or personal business transactions.
  • Access the internet for personal use only when it does not interfere with workplace productivity and never use it for personal gain or entertainment purposes.

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Inform employees of their internet privileges and instruct employees how to properly use these privileges.
  • Review and monitor all internet access, as appropriate.
  • Issue corrective action, up to and including termination, for violation of this policy.
