Work Hours

Work hours depend on your position and location.  Hours of work are communicated by your manager and are subject to change.  The work week at B.A.E.S.S. begins at 12:01AM Sunday and ends at 11:59PM Saturday.

Purpose

  • To ensure that we are available to meet the needs of our customers.
  • To allow employees to plan their personal and professional responsibilities around their work schedule.

Employee Responsibilities

  • Employees are expected to report to work at their scheduled start time.
  • Employees are expected to adjust to work schedule changes as needed.
  • Employees are responsible for making the necessary arrangements to work additional hours if requested.
  • Hourly employees must record their time accurately.

Manager Responsibilities

  • Managers who wish to change an employee’s work schedule must consult with the next level of management prior to initiating the change.
  • Managers who change work schedules and/or require their employees to work overtime should give employees as much notice as possible.

Breaks

An employee who works 3 hours and 29 minutes or less is not entitled to a break.

An employee who works 3 hours and 30 minutes is entitled to a 10-minute paid break which may be taken any time after the first 2 hours of work.  If the employee elects to leave after the 3 hour and 30-minute schedule, they will be paid for 3 hours and 40 minutes

An employee who works over 6 hours is entitled to two 10 minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid break.  The 30-minute unpaid break should be taken before the end of the 5th hour

An employee cannot waive the right to the breaks listed above.
